Agra
Agra is among the most famous cities of India. This is where you would find the Taj Mahal, which is regarded as one of the major wonders of the world. Agra is not only a major tourist destination of India but a chief industrial city as well. It is only 200 kilometers in the south of Delhi. It is easy to reach Agra by train.
Agra was set up in 1526 by the Mughals as their capital. A major attraction of this city is its Chowk, the marketplace well known for its vibrancy and chaos. Other than this there are a number of vendors dealing in souvenirs. There are a couple of temples with historic significance at Agra. There are a lot of tombs and age old monuments at Agra.
Even though Agra is normally visited by travelers for short periods of time there is much more to see here. You ca enjoy the rides on the desert camels. A new Adlabs Cinema complex has come up in Agra. You can also visit Moti Masjid, which has been made out of white marble. You can also visit Bageshwarnath Temple, which is right next to the railway station named Raja ki Mandi. You could also visit the mausoleum of Akbar. It has minarets with three storeys. You would also find some parakeets and monkeys at that place. There are many landmarks at Agra like Chini ka Rauza, which has been built in a Persian style. At Agra you could also check out the Soami Bagh Samadh, which is among the most elaborate mausoleums of India. Agra Fort is a huge castle made out red sandstone. It is situated right on the banks of the Yamuna river. It dates back to 1565. The tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah is also known as a miniature version of the Taj Mahal because it is almost a smaller replica of the same. This tomb gives you the opportunity to take some stunning photographs.
There are various cultural attractions and museums at Agra. You could visit the Taj Mahal museum, which is right there in the Taj complex itself. At the museum you would get every information that you want regarding Taj Mahal. It also houses a number of treasures and gems that belonged to the Taj Mahal. You could also visit the Spiritual Museum, which is a part of the Agra University. There you would find a lot of religious exhibits and various forms of art works.
