Paro Tour

'The Last Place on the Roof of the World' and the 'Last Shangri La' are two of the names bestowed on the wonderful land of Bhutan. Druk Yul, as the locals of Bhutan prefer to call it, is located along the Himalayas. Great views of the mountains, the natural scenery, the culture and the people of Bhutan are some of the attractions which the country boasts of. Paro Tour, Bhutan

Day 01: Paro

The first day of the tour would see you arriving at the airport where our representative would meet you and help you to check into the hotel. You can spend some relaxing moments at the hotel before leaving for a evening walk around the hotel. The Paro market is one of the places around the hotel which would not fail to delight you. After dinner at the hotel you can retire to your bed at night.

Day 02: Paro

The 2nd day morning of the Paro tour would comprise of visits to the Rinpung Dzong and the Ta Dzong. The Rinpung Dzong is a symmetrical structure constructed by Shabdrung Ngwang Namgyal in the year 1646. The Ta Dzong is a watch tower which also houses a must visit chapel. After a visit to the Ta Dzong you would be taken to an excursion to Drugyal Dzong. The Drugyal Dzong is located at a distance of 18 kilometers from Paro. The Drugyal Dzong is the burnt ruins of a fortress. After a tour to the Drugyal Dzong it is back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03: Paro / Thimphu

On the 3rd day we would transport you to the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu. Thimpu was established in the year 1955. The capital is one of the most active places in the country. The Bhutanese Royal Family residence is also located in the capital of Bhutan. The only golf course of Bhutan is also located at the same place. On arrival at Thimphu you would be checking into the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Thimphu

The 4th day of the Paro Tour would see you visiting the numerous places of tourist interest around Thimphu. The Bhutanese Royal Family residence and Tashi Chuu Dzong are two of the must visit places in the capital city of Bhutan. The Tashi Chuu Dzong is the secretariat building where the throne of the Bhutanese King is located. The national library of Bhutan is also located in Thimpu.

The weekend markets in Thimphu are really attractive for the tourists. The fruits sold in the market are one of the must buys. The chilies, cheese and the mangoes are a few of the most delightful things available in the market. You could also purchase handicrafts and textile items during your sightseeing trip. Some of the other places which you could visit in Thimphu include the Memorial Chorten, Changgangkha Monastery, Takin Reserve, Radio Tower, etc. Later an overnight stay awaits you at the hotel.

Day 05: Thimphu / Punakha

Thimphu, Bhutan

On the 5th day morning of the tour , we would drive you to Punakha. Along the route from Thimphu to Punakha you would pass through Simtokha Dzong, the pine forest, etc. The small villages which you would notice during the journey would also delight you. After traveling a distance of 20 kilometers we would reach the northern edges of the mountain. On reaching Punakha you would be checking into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 06: Punakha/Wangduephodrang/Punakha

The 6th day of the Paro tour would begin with sightseeing around Punakha. The major tourist attraction of Punakha is the Punakha Dzong. The Punakha Dzong is the second Dzong to be constructed in Bhutan. The construction work began in the year 1637 and was completed the next year. The Punakha Dzong is located along the confluence of two rivers. Another place which you could be visiting is the Chimmi Lhakhang. The Chimmi Lhakhang temple should not missed by any of the tourists who visit Bhutan. The other places which you are likely to cover during the tour in Punakha include the Khamsum Yulephelma Chorten and the Metshina Village. The rice fields which lie along the route to the Chimmi Lhakhang are bound to impress you a lot.The later part of the tour would involve an excursion to Wangduephodrang. The town is located at the end of the Central Highway. The Dzong is the place where we would take you to in Wangduephodrang. The Dzong had one of the most important roles to play during the unification process of western, central and southern Bhutan. At night you would be transported back to the hotel.

Day 07: Punakha / Paro

On the 7th day of the tour we would be traveling back to the place from where we began, the place being Paro. The second last day of the tour is reserved for the tourists to explore the place by their own. You could mix with the locals of Bhutan to try and understand the life and culture of a Bhutanese. If you so desire you could also revisit the places of tourist attractions in Paro which had been covered on the 2nd day of the tour. A lot of other places in Paro could be visited on this day including the National Museum. The National Museum is the place where you are likely to discover some of the most amazing collections of art, painting and statues.

Day 08: Paro / End of tour

On the last day of the tour you we would pick you up from your hotel and transport you to your hotel. When you leave the country you are likely to carry some cherished memories of the Paro tour with you. It would not be of any surprise to us if you desire to come back to the country for another tour.
