Information on Macau Macau is a city in the South-east part of China and is known for its duality. This densely populated city is a perfect fusion of fortresses, churches and colonial style with an essence of Las Vegas reflected through the construction of Vegas-style mega-casinos and hotels. The city has come a long way from being a sleepy town to a chic metropolitan despite the fact that it is smaller than most of the cities in China. Hong Kong – Macau Ferry Information
The traveling distance between Hong Kong and Macau is 40-mile through ferry route. You can avail jetfoils, turbo-cats, jumbo-cats and hover ferries which frequent between these two cities throughout the day and evening. Jet foils offer all-night service for your convenience. The passengers need to be to be at the ferry terminal at least 30 minutes prior to the departure and complete immigration formalities. If you arrive early you can join stand-by lines for earlier sailings. Children over the age of 1 year are charged full fare. There are two ferry terminals in HongKong with the main terminal and heliport located in Shun Tak Centre, on the waterfront West of Central District on Hong Kong Island. The terminal stands over the Sheung Wan station of the MTR (Mass Transit Railway) and adjoins the bus terminal.
