Travel to PushkarPushkar is a holy city in the Indian state of Rajastan which is about 15 kilometers from Ajmer. Pushkar Lake: This Lake is one of the most sacred sites for the Hindu pilgrims. This lake is a semi-circular lake with its 52 ghats bordering it. On the occasion of Karthik Poornima , millions of pilgrims from various parts of the world come to take a holy dip in the Pushkar Lake. Brahma Temple: This marble temple is dedicated to Lord Brahma. Known for its four-headed idol of Lord Brahma, it is only Brahma temple in the world. The architecture of the temple is also a fine example of artistic work of India. You can see the use of silver coins and white chequered floor in the temple.

Savitri Temple: Located on a hilltop, this temple is also another popular pilgrims spots in Pushkar. The main deity of the temple is goddess Savitri. According to Hindu mythology, goddess Savitri was the first wife of Lord Brahma. From the location of the temple you can enjoy panoramic vista of Pushkar Lake and sand dunes.

Rangji or Rangnath Temple: The main deity of Rangnath Temple is Lord Vishnu. Famous for its south Indian style of architecture, the temple houses Garuda pillars and Gopuram. Tour to Pushkar India.

Varah Temple: This temple is also another sacred pilgrims spots in Pushkar. Varah Temple shelters an image of Lord Vishnu. Varah or Wild boar which was an incarnation of Vishnu is also worshipped here. It is believed that Lord Vishnu disguised himself as Varah and visited the earth kill Hirnayaksh.

Apteshwar Temple: This temple is the ancient temple in Pushkar. This 12th century temple shelters an image of Lord Shiva.

Man Mahal: This palace was built by Raja Man Singh of Ajmer. He used to stay in this palace during his visit to Pushkar.

Things to Do in Pushkar

During your visit to Pushkar you can indulge yourself in various exciting activities to make your vacation a long cherished one. You can take a leisurely stroll down the Pushkar Lake in the evening or sit on the bank of the Pushkar Lake to catch a glimpse of the breathtaking views.

There are several shops in the city which proudly displays wide range of handicrafts items like souvenirs, puppets, pottery, brassware, colorful bangles, beads, ethnic jewelry, embroidered textiles, paintings, camel cover and puppets.
